PSYCHOTHERAPY

the Work

I work with BIPOC adult individuals and couples within CA. I tend to shape the therapeutic experience to fit each participant’s needs and place the biggest emphasis on building a safe space to foster the therapeutic relationship. I have found that I naturally gravitate towards the Narrative Therapy modality and Art Therapy. I also incorporate the use of evidence-based practices such as EMDR Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral therapy, and Interpersonal Psychotherapy. The work is to assist participant to understand their narratives that have been shaped by their past experiences, and decide what beliefs and practices are no longer serving them. Part of the process is for clients to develop/strengthen their authentic voice and therefore I do not typically give advice but instead I offer guidance, knowledge, and support. The hope is for participant to gain the confidence to make choices in line with who they decide they want to be in this life.
